Huli

Terms of Service

Last updated 18 August 2026

These terms govern your use of Huli. By connecting a mailbox you agree to them. They are written plainly on purpose — the important parts are that replies sent from your account are your responsibility, and that you keep control of when the system may send anything.

The service

Huli reads customer email in a Google mailbox you connect, classifies it, drafts a reply grounded in your order data and your written policies, and either holds that reply for your approval or sends it from your account. It can also look up orders in a Shopify store you connect and, where you have permitted it, change a shipping address or issue a discount code you have pre-approved.

Your account

Access is by Google sign-in only, and accounts are created by us rather than by self-service. You are responsible for the security of the Google account you sign in with and for who you allow into your Huli account. Tell us promptly if you believe either has been compromised.

You must have the authority to connect the mailbox and the store you connect, and to let Huli reply to customers on that business’s behalf.

Replies are yours

This is the most important term here. Replies Huli sends go out from your mailbox, under your name, to your customers. As between you and us, they are your messages and your responsibility, including where they were drafted automatically and sent without you reading them first.

Huli gives you three independent controls over this, and you decide how to set them: automatic email is off by default; each category of message must be cleared individually before it can be answered without you; and a global pause stops all outbound mail at once. Some categories — refunds, cancellations, wholesale enquiries, and damage claims among them — are never sent automatically, whatever your settings.

We strongly recommend running with automatic email off until you have read a representative day of drafts and agreed with them.

AI output

Huli uses large language models. Their output can be wrong, and can be wrong in fluent, confident-sounding ways. The system is built to constrain this — replies are grounded in retrieved order data and your written rules, low-confidence drafts are held, and the actions it can take against your store are a short fixed list — but no such measure eliminates the risk.

Damage-photo assessments are recommendations for a person to weigh, not decisions, and Huli never promises a customer a replacement on its own.

You are responsible for reviewing output before relying on it for anything consequential.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use Huli to:

  • Send unsolicited bulk email, marketing, or anything a recipient did not ask for.
  • Send deceptive, harassing, unlawful, or misleading messages.
  • Access a mailbox or store you are not authorised to access.
  • Attempt to circumvent the sending controls, rate limits, or approval flow.
  • Reverse engineer, resell, or provide the service to third parties without our agreement.

You must also comply with Google’s and Shopify’s terms, and with the email and consumer-protection law that applies to you.

Third-party services

Huli depends on Google, Shopify, Anthropic, OpenAI, and Linq. It cannot work without them, and we do not control them. Their outages, changes, rate limits, or decisions to withdraw access may interrupt or degrade the service, and we are not liable for that. Your use of each remains subject to that provider’s own terms.

Availability

Huli is provided on an as-available basis and we do not commit to an uptime level. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features. Where a change would materially reduce what the service does, we will give account owners reasonable notice.

Fees

Where fees apply they will be agreed in writing with you separately. Nothing on this page creates a payment obligation on its own.

Your data

You keep all rights in your mail, your customer data, and your store data. You grant us only the permission needed to run the service for you — to process, store, and transmit that data as described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

Warranties and liability

Huli is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that replies will be accurate, appropriate, or free from error.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or customer relationships, arising from your use of Huli. Our total aggregate liability is limited to the greater of the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred US dollars.

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Indemnity

You will indemnify us against claims arising from messages sent from your mailbox through Huli, from your use of the service in breach of these terms, and from your violation of law or of a third party’s rights.

Termination

You may stop at any time by disconnecting your mailbox and asking us to close your account. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms, for conduct that risks harm to customers or to the service, or where required by law. On termination we stop processing your mail; deletion of stored data follows the Privacy Policy.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified to account owners by email before taking effect, and the date at the top of this page will change. Continuing to use Huli after that means you accept the update.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and the courts located there have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
